A tag is a label you create and add to a record in FreedomSoft. Tags such as Absentee, Probate, or Driving for Dollars can describe how you work and help you organize your records. Statuses track where a deal is; tags describe what a record is, and a record can carry as many tags as you like.
What Can Be Tagged
You can add tags to Leads, Properties, Projects, Buyers, Buyer Leads, and Contacts.
The tag strip appears in the same place on each record type: just under the Status dropdown near the top of the record.
Tags Belong to Your Account
- Every tag you create is available to everyone on your account and on every record type. A tag you add to a lead can also be used on a buyer.
- Tag names are unique and are not case-sensitive. Typing
hot leadwhenHot Leadalready exists reuses the existing tag instead of creating a second one. - Tag names can be up to 50 characters and may contain spaces, punctuation, and commas.
- Tags are never shared between accounts. Your tags belong to your account.
Four Ways to Add a Tag to a Record
- On the record itself: Use this when you are already looking at the record. Click "Add Tag" right below Status.
- Bulk action: Use this when you want to apply the same tag to many records. Select records and click Add Tag found in the orange More Actions button.
- Workflow Automation: Use this when the tag should follow a status change every time. Click the blue + icon for the status you'd like to add the tag to.
- Settings > Tags: Use this when you want to create or manage the tag list itself. Navigate to the Settings page and click Tags on the left side of the screen.

Who Can Manage Tags
Anyone who can open a record can tag it.
Only account managers can access Settings > Tags, where tags can be renamed and deleted.
Conclusion
Tags give you a flexible way to organize, find, and measure records throughout FreedomSoft. You can add them manually, apply them in bulk, automate them with workflows, and use them for searching and reporting.
