How to Report on Tags in FreedomSoft

Every time a tag is added to or removed from a record, FreedomSoft records it. A KPI report can count those events, allowing you to see activity such as how many leads were tagged Hot Lead during a specific timeframe.

Build the Report

  1. Go to Settings > KPI Dashboard and click New Report, or edit an existing report.
  2. Set Metric to KPI Event.
  3. Set Event Name to Tag Added or Tag Removed.
  4. A Tags field appears. Choose one or more tags to report on. This field is required, so the report always counts activity for a specific tag or tags.
  5. Complete the remaining report settings as you would for any report, including target, dimension, and timeframe.
  6. Save the report. It appears on your KPI Dashboard.

What Gets Counted

The report can count:

  • Tags added by hand on a record.
  • Tags added or removed through a bulk action.
  • Tags added or removed by a workflow.
  • Tags removed because someone deleted the tag from the account.

Deleting a tag removes it from every record, and each of those removals counts as a removal event.

Reading the Numbers

The report counts events, not records.

If the same lead is tagged, untagged, and tagged again, that results in two Tag Added events and one Tag Removed event.

To count records carrying a tag right now, use the tag filter on a search screen or the Records column under Settings > Tags.

Conclusion

Use KPI reports when you want to measure tag activity over time. If you want to see how many records currently carry a tag, use a tag filter or the Records count instead.
