Document Templates make it easy to automatically generate documents within your FreedomSoft account, saving you time and reducing manual work. You can use one of our standard templates, upload your own, or edit existing ones.
How to Add or Edit a Document Template
-
Hover over your name in the top right of any screen.
-
Click Settings.
3. Select Templates in the left pane, then click Document Templates.
You will now see two sections:
-
Your Templates and Packages – where you can manage your custom templates.
-
System Templates and Packages – FreedomSoft’s pre-built templates, which can also be edited.
Actions available:
-
-
To upload a new template, click the plus icon.
-
- To add a new document package (a group of documents), click the folder icon.
- To edit an existing template, click the pencil edit icon. (You can also edit the system templates.)
Editing a Document Template
Clicking the pencil icon opens the document editor. Here you can customize templates using merge fields.
-
Merge fields tell FreedomSoft what information to autofill from your account into the document.
-
To add an empty variable field, click anywhere on the document.
-
You can type directly into the field if you want information included every time the template is used.
-
Or, you can select a merge field from the dropdown at the top to pull in data from your FreedomSoft account (e.g., seller’s name, property address, buyer details).
Saving & Using Your Templates
When finished, click Save Changes. Now, whenever you generate that document, FreedomSoft will autofill the correct information automatically.
