How to Complete Your Phone System Registration

To unlock your phone system’s full capabilities, a completed phone system registration is now required by all major carriers. Completing this two-step process ensures SMS compliance and unlocks two important benefits in FreedomSoft:

  • Your phone numbers will be linked to your business, enabling Shaken/Stir verification—a carrier protocol that confirms caller identity. Once active, your outbound calls are far less likely to be flagged as “Spam Likely.”

  • Once your business registration is approved, your outbound SMS/text messaging capabilities will be fully activated.

Note: To complete Step 1, you will need an EIN (Employer Identification Number). If you don’t already have one, set up a business entity and file for an EIN with the IRS. Check your Secretary of State’s website for registration requirements.

 

Step 1: Business Information & EIN

1. Navigate to Settings in the top right-hand corner of FreedomSoft.

2.  In the left-side options, select Phone, then click the Phone System Setup tab.

3. Click the Start Setup button in Step 1 and follow the on-screen instructions.

4. Fill out all required fields under Business Address, Business Details, and Authorized Representative. Then click Submit Step 1.

Tips for Step 1:

  • Enter your company name, address, and other information exactly as shown on your EIN documentation. For example, if your EIN lists “ABC Investments, LLC,” do not shorten it to “ABC Investments.”

  • Add your company name to your website footer (and header, if possible) so carriers can verify your business details.

  • Accurate information is required for your phone system business registration. If your EIN and submitted details don’t match, your registration may be rejected.


Step 2: Carrier Registration & Fees

1.  After Step 1, you’ll be asked to finish your registration in Step 2.

2. Fill out all required fields and click Submit Step 2 Payment.

3. There is a $49 one-time application fee collected by FreedomSoft and paid directly to the carriers.

4. Once approved, a $15 monthly registration fee is required to maintain compliance. This fee is also collected by FreedomSoft and paid to the carriers on your behalf.

 

Monitoring Your Registration Status

Once both steps are complete, return to the Overview tab to monitor your registration status. Your status will show as ‘Pending’ until it has been reviewed and approved.
