If you've started the process to port your existing phone numbers from your current carrier to FreedomSoft, and discovered that your current carrier is using Twilio for their phone system, there are a couple extra steps to complete the port.
Completing a Twilio Phone Port:
PART 1
1) Contact your current phone provider and request their SID # associated with your account (the CARRIER SID). Don't worry, even though you don't know what that is...they do.
2) Submit a support ticket to support@freedomsoft.com and include (1) the CARRIER SID from Step 1 and (2) the list of phone numbers you want to port.
Please use the subject line: TWILIO PHONE PORT SID
3) We will reply to your support ticket and provide you with the FREEDOMSOFT SID #.
After we do that, we'll have your current CARRIER SID and you'll have the FREEDOMSOFT SID.
PART 2
Next, you need to request that your current carrier submits a support ticket to Twilio and that they request the carrier transfers your current numbers from their account to FreedomSoft.
Send your current carrier the following message by opening a support ticket or sending them an email:
==========================
Hi [Current_Carrier],
My name is [Your_Name], and I would like to request that you submit a support ticket to Twilio to transfer the following numbers to a new account. You can copy and paste the information below in the support ticket with Twilio to make the transfer.
The numbers I would like to transfer are:
[LIST YOUR NUMBERS HERE]
I would like to transfer these numbers:
1 - From CARRIER SID [INSERT CURRENT SID # HERE]
2 - To FREEDOMSOFT SID [INSERT NEW SID # HERE]
Thank you,
[YOUR NAME]
==========================
Here at FreedomSoft will do the same by submitting a support ticket to Twilio with the same information as in the template letter above.
Once Twilio recieves BOTH support tickets (1) from your current carrier and (2) from FreedomSoft, they will port your numbers into your FreedomSoft account.
There are a few steps, but it's pretty simple and fast.
