FreedomSoft makes it simple to import all of your prospects, leads and contacts into your account following the steps laid out below.
Before we get into the specific steps for importing data, please refer to the data types below so that you can get your data imported into the right place the first time.
- Seller Prospects and Seller Leads - whether a seller prospect or a seller lead, all seller records will be imported into a Seller List in the Leads tab of your FreedomSoft account.
- Buyer Prospects - buyer prospects are potential buyers that you haven't communicated with yet and they should be imported into a Buyer List in the Leads tab of your FreedomSoft account.
- Buyers List - your buyers list of current buyers that you work with should be imported into the Buyers tab in your FreedomSoft account.
- Contacts - all contacts for your business should be imported straight into the Contacts tab in your FreedomSoft account.
Below are the specific steps for importing your different data types into FreedomSoft.
Note - your data will need to be in spreadsheet format and ideally saved as a ".CSV (comma delimited)" file type. The .CSV format removes any formatting from the spreadsheet which makes for a much cleaner import.
- To save the file as .CSV, open the file on your computer, click Save As, select ".CSV (comma delimited)" as the type and click Save.
For seller prospects, leads and buyer prospects, you'll first want to make sure that your List has been created to receive the import.
To create a new List, click My Lists from the Leads tab in your account.
Then click the blue New List button on the left side of the screen.
Enter the name of the list in the top field.
Choose the List Type using the drop down.
Select the list target which will be either Sellers (default) or Buyers.
Update the Workflow Automation and Permissions if necessary.
Click the blue button to save and create the List.
Now that the List has been created, click the blue Import button to start the import.
Click the blue Choose File button to select the spreadsheet file from your computer.
Once selected, click the > icon in the gray tool bar to go to the next step.
The blue rectangles on the right side of hte screen all represent the column headers from your spreadsheet.
The fields you see on the left side of the screen represent the fields in FreedomSoft where the data can be placed.
Simply click and drag the blue rectangles into the appropriate fields as you see in the image below.
Note - you may not need all of the data in your spreadsheet so only click and drag over the data that you want to import.
Also Note - there are 3 tabs containing fields on the left side of the screen; Property, Primary Contact and Secondary Contact.
Click the > icon in the gray tool bar when finished.
The final step shows you a quick preview. If everything looks good, click the check mark icon in the gray tool bar and the import will initiate.
If for some reason you need to go back, click the < icon in the gray tool bar.
